If, during the ultrasound, we encounter a structure that we believe would be useful to perform an ultrasound-guided aspirate on (FNA) and submit it for cytology, do we have your approval? We will discuss the cost, risks, and value of the procedure with the pet owner at that time and obtain consent.
Do you recommend expediting this report to ensure results are received today? The typical turnaround time is the next business day. If so, we will seek approval from the pet owner as there is an additional cost.
