Ultrasound Diagnostic Services
We offer a variety of ultrasound studies that provide real-time, high-resolution images of your cat’s organs, allowing us to accurately detect and monitor a range of health conditions. Ultrasound options include:
- Abdominal ultrasounds for a multitude of concerns
- Cardiac ultrasound (echocardiogram) to assess heart structure and function
- Thoracic ultrasound for lung and chest evaluation (not available at all locations)
- Thyroid ultrasound for thyroid-related issues
Comprehensive Cardiology Consultation
Using our diagnostic tools, we can detect heart disease early and develop personalized treatment plans. Through consultations with veterinary cardiologists, we provide in-depth evaluations of your pet’s heart health. Veterinary Diagnostic Centers can also perform:
- Electrocardiograms
- Echocardiograms
- Blood pressure readings
- Review of thoracic radiographs
- Laboratory sample collection and submissions (additional costs apply)
Comprehensive Internal Medicine Consultations
For cats needing detailed assessments, we offer remote consultations with board-certified internists. This service includes an ultrasound and a comprehensive case review, factoring in the patient’s full medical history. We provide your veterinarian with essential insights for accurate treatment planning, eliminating long waits for in-person specialist visits.
Laboratory Services
At your veterinarian’s request, we collect and submit a variety of laboratory samples to assist with diagnosis and treatment. In some cases, we perform ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirates and cytology, targeting specific organs to gather cells for detailed analysis, which can help achieve a more accurate diagnosis. We use the Vetscan Imagyst to submit tissue samples, allowing us to obtain vital results within hours instead of days.

We took our cat here for an ultrasound. I am so happy with the services we received. The team was very kind and communicative and gentle with our cat. He felt very comfortable with them, even without sedation. The facilities were very nice and they have a calming environment with low lighting and calm music. They were also accommodating over the holiday weekend and let us know the test results with little delay. When we were going through such a stressful time with our pet I was so grateful to have a relatively stress-free appointment here. I would go back here in the future if ever needed.

I took my cat for an ultrasound and it was the smoothest process. From making the appointment, ultrasound time to discussing results, everyone made the stressful process extremely easy. The room we were in had relaxing jazz music; my cat nearly fell asleep! Every employee handled my boy with care and attention and made me very welcome as I sat with them in the room. Results were provided promptly (within 24 hours) and sent to my vet. I would strongly recommend anyone to go here!

My elderly cat got TLC during his ultrasound appointment. Their gentle, fear-free approach was appreciated. I’m a level three certified fear free veterinarian (retired) so I know what to look for. They got us in quickly and took the time needed to get a good history.
They were upfront about their pricing. I even received a breakdown of what the fees would be before my cat’s echo. When we got there I was allowed to stay in the room with my cat. The three staff members with us helped to hold my cat in a comfortable position (well, as much as we could get for an echo). They were so kind and caring for the whole procedure. The prices are definitely fair. I did call around a couple places that my vet recommended and this one was the most reasonable. She’s doing well and doesn’t seem too stressed from the echo.

Absolutely flawless experience. We had an emergency need for an ultrasound on our 14-year-old cat and managed to get a same day appointment. The staff were extremely friendly, caring, and professional. The results were processed quickly and I received a call from the DVM within 4 hours. The facility is spotlessly clean and welcoming, the ability to sit with our cat through the procedure was great, really helped us to relax. Again, I cannot praise the staff highly enough. I would not go anywhere else for my imaging needs.

We visited the Veterinary Diagnostic Center in Schaumburg for an echocardiogram of our cat's heart. We were very pleased with the nurturing care they provided throughout the procedure. It was wonderful that we were allowed to be in the room and able to comfort her as she was a bit nervous. The staff was wonderful and explained everything that they were doing and put our mind at ease. I would highly recommend their service to anyone in need of an ultrasound for their pet.
