Basic Echocardiogram

Echocardiogram with Comprehensive Cardiology Consultation
For pets with suspected or known heart conditions, we collect and submit detailed diagnostic data to a remote board-certified veterinary cardiologist. This ensures your veterinarian receives specialist input quickly — without the long delays often associated with in-person cardiology appointments.
Holter Monitor Testing (Dogs only)
Capturing your dog’s heart health in real life makes all the difference. Our Holter monitoring service provides clear answers to support the best treatment plan for your dog.
Holter monitor testing is a valuable tool for detecting and diagnosing cardiac arrhythmias in dogs. This non-invasive test involves your dog wearing a portable device that continuously records their heart activity over 24 to 48 hours. The extended monitoring period allows us to capture arrhythmias that may not appear during a standard exam.
During the test, your dog can go about their normal routine while the Holter monitor records important data, which is then analyzed by our team. This provides a more comprehensive understanding of your dog’s heart health, helping your veterinarian develop the best treatment plan for any detected heart conditions.
Additional Cardiac Services
We also perform electrocardiograms (ECGs), blood pressure monitoring, thoracic radiograph reviews, and laboratory sample collection and submission to support a complete cardiac evaluation (Additional costs may apply).
Took my chihuahua there today for an echocardiogram and x-rays. The three young ladies were extremely nice and very patient with my Rudy!! Rudy is not a “friendly” guy but has never tried to bite. They talked so nice to him and actually picked him up and he was fine. This is his second time getting this ultrasound and the last crew were just as friendly and nice. I would absolutely recommend VDC if your fur baby needs specialty testing done!!!
We just left our appointment at Veterinary Diagnostic Centers and had a phenomenal experience. We brought in our 8-year-old cockapoo for an echocardiogram and were a little nervous about how she would do. The environment in the clinic is so welcoming and doesn’t feel like a vet’s office at all. Every single one of the staff members were so warm, welcoming, and patient with our pup. Their communication with us prior to the appointment was also great - prompt communication and they work with you to ensure you are getting the correct service based on your pets’ needs without paying extra for something you don’t need. I highly recommend this clinic!

We took our boy Oreo for a cardiogram and he was such a good boy! All the staff was really friendly and so nice. We got to stay with him the whole time which made me and him happy! If you need to take your pet in for testing I would highly recommend them because the whole staff was amazing and did a great job! Thank you all for being so kind to my baby.

Had to bring my dog here for an Echo after our Vet heard a murmur. Everyone was really kind and worked well with my dog. They were informative and let me stay with my dog during the procedure. Would definitely recommend! We had looked into one other place that we had been to before for something else, and they wanted to charge almost $300 more! I really liked the fact that we could just come in for the Echo and not get charged for a visit as well like the other place I had looked into. The radiologist reads it remotely (just like regular hospital systems) and you get the results a couple days later.

At a time when we had no clue as to what was going on with our pet, Veterinary Diagnostic Centers were able to provide answers. Eternally grateful to them and the staff who helped us through a difficult, mysterious time.
They were upfront about their pricing. I even received a breakdown of what the fees would be before my cat’s echo. When we got there I was allowed to stay in the room with my cat. The three staff members with us helped to hold my cat in a comfortable position (well, as much as we could get for an echo). They were so kind and caring for the whole procedure. The prices are definitely fair. I did call around a couple places that my vet recommended and this one was the most reasonable. She’s doing well and doesn’t seem too stressed from the echo.

We visited the Veterinary Diagnostic Center in Schaumburg for an echocardiogram of our cat's heart. We were very pleased with the nurturing care they provided throughout the procedure. It was wonderful that we were allowed to be in the room and able to comfort her as she was a bit nervous. The staff was wonderful and explained everything that they were doing and put our mind at ease. I would highly recommend their service to anyone in need of an ultrasound for their pet.
