Over the last 20 years, cases of this condition have been increasingly recognized. This program will cover the pathophysiology of gallbladder mucoceles, typical signalment, clinical signs, common clinicopathological abnormalities, diagnostic strategies, treatment options, and prognosis. The session will also include a case review to provide practical insights into clinical application.

Jared A. Jaffey,  DVM, MS, DACVIM (SAIM)

Dr. Jared A. Jaffey is a board-certified small animal internist and Associate Professor at Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine. With over a decade of experience in internal medicine, Dr. Jaffey has built a distinguished career as a clinician, educator, and researcher.

Dr. Jaffey earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Florida, where he also completed his undergraduate studies in Animal Sciences. Following veterinary school, he pursued advanced training with a rotating internship in East Bay, California, and two specialty internships in internal medicine in South Florida. He furthered his academic credentials with a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Florida Atlantic University and completed a rigorous three-year residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Missouri.

Currently, Dr. Jaffey serves as the Service Chief of the Small Animal Internal Medicine Service at Midwestern University. In addition to his clinical duties, he actively contributes to the academic community, mentoring students and residents and developing advanced coursework in small animal medicine.

Dr. Jaffey has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, authored textbook chapters, and serves as an editor and peer reviewer for several veterinary journals. He is a frequent speaker at veterinary conferences and has received multiple honors for his contributions to veterinary medicine.
